A workshop bench under a single lamp: 3D-printed enclosure halves, a bare PCB on an anti-static mat, calipers and a soldering iron

How we build

Sketch to purchase order, without a handoff

Hardware people who cannot train a model, and model people who have never held a caliper, produce the same result: a beautiful half. We staffed for the whole.

The disciplines

Six crafts, one room

Nothing here is subcontracted to a stranger with a different definition of done.

01 / MECHANICAL

Industrial & mechanical design

Form, CMF, wall thicknesses, snap fits, tolerances, draft angles, the mounting story. Designed so it can be moulded later, not just printed now.

02 / PROTOTYPING

3D printing, in the building

A Bambu Lab X2D for casings, brackets and functional parts. An Elegoo Saturn 16K for optical light guides and anything where the surface is the feature.

03 / ELECTRONICS

Boards, radios, antennas

Module selection and silicon choice driven by what the model needs to run, plus the radio stack — Wi-Fi, Thread, Matter, Zigbee, Bluetooth — and where the antenna can actually live.

04 / FIRMWARE

Firmware that survives the field

Boot, provisioning, the inference loop, power behaviour, recovery, and an update path that cannot brick a device in a customer's hallway.

05 / MODELS

Edge & local AI

Quantised models sized to the silicon, a local model on the premise box for the harder reasoning, and an evaluation harness that says whether the new one is genuinely better.

06 / SOFTWARE

Apps, APIs, platform

Mobile, TV and web clients, the API, multi-tenant provisioning, connectors to the systems your customers already own, and the dashboards that keep a fleet honest.

A resin-printed optical light guide lifted from the build plate under raking light, its channels catching a cyan glow

The printers earn their keep

Two machines, two different jobs

Bambu Lab X2D — casings, brackets, jigs and functional parts, in engineering materials when the part has to survive something. Dual nozzle means support removal stops being an afternoon with a scalpel.

Elegoo Saturn 16K — light guides and optical parts, where resolution is the whole point. A glowing line that looks machined rather than printed is not a rendering trick; it is geometry you can only reach at this resolution.

Between them: same-day iteration. A detail argued at ten in the morning is a part in your hand by two, and a corrected part by six.

An instrumented test rig: a device under bright directional light with thermal probes and a logging laptop, cyan graphs on screen

What "documented" means

The pile of files that makes it real

A prototype nobody can manufacture is a sculpture. Week eight ends with the bill of materials, the mechanical package, the assembly sequence, the test plan and the known-issues list — the set a contract manufacturer needs to quote you a price instead of a meeting.

We would rather write down the three things that are still wrong than hand over a clean folder that lies.

Manufacturing
BOM and the documentation set for quoting

One team, one thread

Bring the whole problem. Including the plastic.

Most studios hand you a design and wish you luck with the rest. We would rather own the seam between the enclosure, the board and the model, because that seam is where products fail.
